Week ending 13th November 2015

Thank you for your support in raising money for Children in Need. In class, children have designed masks for a competition and they are going to be designing a superhero on Monday. We raised £10.40 in class and really appreciate all the efforts you put into the cake sale on Friday after school!

This week in science we have completed our forces module by finishing the mechanical devices models we have made. We have been playing lots of fun games online to reinforce what we have learned.

In English we have started a new topic on explorers. We have been looking at what explorers do and the challenges they face in different environments. The children have worked hard on trying to improve their sentences. They have been adding adverbial phases and subordinate clauses to try and build their confidence in writing complex sentences. Please can you remind them of these during their spelling sentences. On Friday, during our 'Wild Wonderful Writing' session, the children planned and wrote some fantastic accounts of an explorer's adventure and how they were finally rescued!

In music the children have started to learn an African dance with accompanying music.

In maths the class have worked hard to learn a new strategy to learn how to divide three digit numbers by a one digit number. They have also been learning how to use a protractor to measure angles and recognise when an angle is acute, obtuse or reflex. Here are some good websites which would support the children's learning:
