Well, it’s been a busy week again, ending with a lovely celebration for the Queen’s birthday. There are some photos of year 5 enjoying the games in the sunshine on Friday. Mr Simmons organised lots of fun activities; Hula Hoop Madness, Skipping Rope Challenge, Egg and Spoon Shuttles, Score a Penalty, Running the ladder and more! The fun afternoon finished by eating ice lollies sitting in the shade! Children and staff all wore red, white and blue in honour of Her Majesty!
In Literacy this week the year 5s showed great team work when they worked in groups to write a questionnaire. Each group came up with an idea for a toy or game that they will have to pitch to the teacher. On Thursday they went to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and asked the children the questions from the questionnaires. Then they returned to class and evaluated the exercise. We have been impressed with the imagination of their designs and look forward to seeing the end products!
In Numeracy we learnt how to add and subtract fractions. Always remember to simplify your answer, for example, 1 and 3/6 is 1 and ½)
Have a lovely weekend!
