Friday 24th March 2017

Last week, Maths, Science and Engineering week, was full of exciting workshops led by parents...

As this term draws to a close, the children have been working very hard in all areas of the curriculum. In Maths this week they have been learning about fractions and equivalence, mixed number fractions and improper fractions. In English they have looked at some Charles Causley poetry and rewritten poems into prose - a challenging task but they did a fantastic job retelling the narrative!

In Computing they have been working on the planning stage to create a class website aimed at KS2 children about E-Safety. We were very lucky to have Mrs Hansen come in on Wednesday to talk about website design. She posed some excellent questions for the children to think about before the planning stage and they are very excited to create their own webpages after Easter.

In DT this morning the children measured their wood accurately, which they would need for their Greek temple designs. They used saws, wood blocks and clamps and were very aware of the need to work safely and carefully. Some excellent team work was demonstrated, with tasks being delegated in groups of two or three.

In the afternoon the children added the money they have saved in their Lenten boxes to the letters of  Westminster Children's Society in the library. They should be very proud of all the money they raised for such a good cause - well done and thank you parents for your support!

The children thoroughly enjoyed the school fair this afternoon and raised over £100 on the cake stall, Pokemon Alley and Speed Draw. Well done - a superb effort!
